HAORANZING / A PERSONAL NOTEBOOK

Hello, I’m Zhang Haoran.

Also known as HaoranZing. A first-year university student who writes code, plays guitar, and keeps a record of everyday life.

My life has room for neatly organised folders and last-minute trips. Sometimes I spend hours with a piece of code; sometimes I just find a café and order a latte without sugar.

This is less a résumé than a notebook I’m still filling.

Computing · It started with a webpage
#

In my first year of middle school, I wanted a small place of my own on the internet. I began learning to build websites, then tried WordPress, Hexo, Hugo, and Halo. My interests have since wandered into algorithms, cryptography, networking, and AI. They don’t fit one neat category, but when something puzzles me, I usually want to look a little closer.

Now I’m back with Hugo, keeping my articles in local Markdown files. The site can change; I want the writing to stay.

Music · A guitar, and days I remember
#

Guitar has been part of my life for years. I also enjoy live concerts, orchestral music, and dance performances. Some songs bring back the people and places that went with them.

Not every evening needs a grand purpose. Sometimes I just pick up the guitar and play for a while.

Wandering · Following a little curiosity
#

An exhibition or a performance can send me looking up routes and tickets. I also like walking around unfamiliar cities without much of a plan. Photographs keep the scenery; sometimes the people I happen to meet stay with me longer.

Then there is ordinary life again: university, family, friends, and small moments I don’t want to forget.

A longer introduction

I finally wrote the personal story I had wanted to put into words for six years: around 10,000 Chinese characters and eighteen illustrations, starting with the name HaoranZing.
